Despatches fiom the Agent-General via Suez noted the shipment of 111 tons of ateel lails for Otago per Beautiful Star ; 53 tons of rails for Canterbury per Chailotte Gladstone, to be transhipped at ship's expense from Otago to Lyttelton ; 47 tons rails, 29 tons spikes for Nelson dnect, and five tons rails per Forfarshne to Wellington, but for Nelson ; 95 tons of rails per City of Bombay to Otago for Mataura and Invereaigill line. A telegram from Dr Featherston reports a considerable falling otf in emigration, owing to the season ; 200 shipped in November, G'JO in December. Destination not stated, Tho emigration is likely to be slack during the winter mouths. The Government has accepted Mr Curtis's torms regarding the Biunuer coal mine, and the Creymouth Carparatfon have waived all tbeir rights, ao as to enable the matter to be concludedThe Governor leaves Auckland on the Ist March. A farewell ball to Lady Bo\>eii takes place on the 20th instant.
