A telegram lias been received through Major Mair from the king, asking the fricndlies to apply for the restoration of the confiscated lands from MaimgatnwUiri to Ngavuawahin, and to stop all surveys, sales or leases of land. The Ngaterangi chief will not speak at the. mooting by_thc advice of Mr Commissioner Clarke.
