Madden and Reed, which ave placed in the market solely in consequence of the recent untimely death of the former gentleman, viz. : 2-sths share in race, original Orepuki Water Race Company. 2-6ths share in special 10 acre claim, Clark’s Gully. 2-sths share in tail race, Clark’s Gully. 2-3rds share in tail race, No. 1,457, and head race, two miles long, ordinary claim, Prospector’s Gully. Orepuki, as a field of enterprise, has been lately most deservedly brought into more notice than formerly; this property is therefore, being a bona fide sale, pronounced worthy of attention elsewhere than only in its immediate district. TENDERS will be received at the Town Clerk’s office, Riverton, till Noon of MONDAY, 29th December, 1873, for the following works, viz.— Contract No. I.—Forming and gravelling 30£ chains footpath in Havelock-street, from Elizabeth-street to Downing-street. “ No. 2.—Forming and gravelling chains footpath in Lucknow-street. “ No. 3. —Forming and gravelling 4£ chains footpath in Bath-road, near the Manse. “ No. 4.—Gravelling 23 chains water table on each side Palmerston-street, between Paddock-street and Bridge. Specifications may be seen and particulars obtained after Monday, Bth inst., on application to the Town Surveyor. PETER GRANT, Town Clerk. TO LET, with immediate possession, the Star and Garter Hotel, Riverton, eligibly situated in Palmerston-street, and now doing a good trade. The present occupier’s lease has expired, and the increase in the other branches of his business is his sole reason for retiring. The stock and fixtures can be taken by valuation.
