ITEMS OF INTEREST. Grass Fires. A grass fire broke out at the Takapau Cemetery on Friday afternoon. With the dry state of the pastures at present fires are a constant danger. Personal. Mrs C. C. Callender left Takapau on Saturday to.spend a month’s holiday with her people in Christchurch., Mr N. 'M. Paulson has been laid-up during the past week with a bad leg. Mrs W. Prior, of Wellington, who has been spending the past month in Takapau, as "the guest of Mr Maudslay, returned home on Saturday. Takapau Improvements. The concrete kerbing and channeling is now being completed in Lthe main street, and when the work is finished it will bo an outstanding improvement to Takapau. Credit for this forward step is due to those responusible, and in particular to the councillor for the district, Mr N. M. Paulsen.
