At the Waipawa County Council meeting on Monday last, Cr J. A. Kerr brought up the matter of heavy expenditure being incurred on account of building at the County Hospital. The finances for the expenditure being incurred, running into some thousands, was being arranged for by special bank overdraft, such overdraft to be extinguished in two years. This meant that the money had to be found in that period, and would mean a serious item to the contributing bodies. Other members agreed that the matter was serious, and thought such expenditure on capital account should be paid for by loan. It was resolved to protest to the Board against the providing of the money by capital levy, and to circularise local bodies, asking their co-opera-tion in the protest.
