RUSSELL PARK.
Though the working bee on Russell Park on Saturday was not as well attended as might reasonably have been expected, splendid work was done, and a wonderful improvement effected in -the apof the ground. The stones on and near the surface were raked into rows, and afterwards removed in drays to the big holes on the eastern side of the park. A large area was -'"cleared, but it is a pity that there were not sufficient workers to have cleared the whole of the levelled portion. A noticeable fact was that most of those who took part in the work are not likely to participate in any games that may be playd on the park, being looked upon in athletic circles as, “ back numbers.” It is to be hoped the work of improving the ground will not be allowed to drop, but, now that so much has been done, the levelling and laying out ol the park will be persevered with till it is completed.
