PORANGAHAU DANCE.
—® — Last night a dance was held at Porangahau, when* despite the weather which had been stormy and wet for the last few days, a good attendance was present. The weather, however, had the effect of keeping away the visitors who would otherwise have put in an appearance, Porangahau dances and hospitality being famous throughout the district. The dancing hall was decorated for the occasion and the floor was in good order. The music was provided by Miss Moroney, the well known pianiste of Waipawa, and exra dances were kindly played by Mrs Grant and the Misses 'Brown (2). The attractiveness and pleasure of the evening were enhanced by a number of songs contributed between the dances, the singers being Messrs. D. Milne and F. Marshall. The piano was lent by the kindness of Mr L. Brown, Porangahau. Mr Shaw, caterer of Waipukurau, supplied the refreshments. The management of the social was in the hands of the ladies, the secretary being Miss Chisholm, and a committee consisting of Mesdames Quinn, Brown, Cameron Kingston, Fisher ; and the Misses Grenside, Hennun, and Stack,
