PEACE CONGRESS
London, July 28. King Edward and Queen Alexandra welcomed a deputation from the Seventeenth Universal Peace Congress, which has opened in London. King Edward rejoiced that his efforts to secure international peace and goodwill had not been without fruit. Rulers and statesmen could pursue no higher aim than the promotion of mutual good understanding and cordial friendship among the nations. It was, his Majesty. declared, the surest and most direct means to enable humanity to realise its nobiest ideals, and its-"-attain-ment would ever be the object of his own constant endeavours.
