SHEEP RETURNS.

The number of sheep.in the Dominion on April 30th last, according to a return laid on the table of tho';House of Representatives, was 22,124,202, as against 20,983,772 at the end of April, 1907, being an increase of 1,140,430. The increase in the South Island was 6-56,982, and in the North Island 483,448.
