A meeting of the Napier Painters’ and Decorrtors’ Union I st night carried the following ■solution as an outcome for apeal for aid : ” That this union bsolutely refusas to grant any mancial assistance to the Wellingon Bakers’ Union, and disapproves of their action in striking.” At the Peeroa Police Court, four Maoris, followeis of a new Maori prophet, were committed for sentence at the Auckland Supreme Court on charges of catlestealing. The evidence showed that, after killing the animals, the bullock bells were used to call followers to religious services at their camp.
