The House of Commons listened for ten minutes to a Bill introduced by Captain M. KincaidSmith (Liberal member for Stratford, Warwickshire), providing that adults must undergo 48 days’ compulsory military training a year. The Bill was greeted with laughter and cheers, and was rejected by 250 votes to 34.
