ELECTRICAL STORM.

New Yobk, May 20. One 'of the most remarkable electrical storms ever experienced by passengers on an Atlantic liner occurred during the westward passage of the Cedric, of the White Star Line, which arrived from Liverpool yesterday morning. Rough weather was met nearly all the way across, and from the first day out, when the cold was so severe that passengers were obliged to remain beneath decks until the day before sighting Sandy Hook lightship, everything seemed to conspire to delay the ship. On last Wednesday, with dark clouds hanging low, there’ came suddenly a terrific crash of thunder, followed by an electrical storm, which seemed to engulf the ship and set her afire in all parts at once. Balls of fire played about her rigging and flashes of the electric fluid rushed over the decks. Glittering serpentine effects floated through the atmosphere and bursts of white flame came in staitling succession. The display lasted for an hour. The passengers were alarmed at first, but were soon assured that the electricity was harmless.
