Parishoners’ Meeting.

The annual meeting of St. Mary’s Church, Waipukar.au, was held on Friday evening. The Rev. F. W. Martin occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of parishoners. The Rev. F. W. Martin, in his report, alluded to the sympathy and consideration shown to him in his sickness by the parishoners from one end of the parish to the other. He expressed himself as deeply grateful for it. The church warden submitted his balance sheet showing a credit balance of, £B4 4s sd. The receipts amounted to £450 17s sd, ’ncluding balance brought forward from last year of £57 15s Sd, pew rents £43 9s fid, general offertories £BO 17s sd, subscriptions to stipend £l4O 15s. The election of officers resulted : People’s church warden, Mr D. H. Potts; vicar’s warden, Mr E R. White; vestrymen, Messrs T. Hobson. J. AV- Elliot, C. J- Scruby, C. J. Cooke, P.,H. Jolley, G. H. Graham, J. Winlove, G. W, L. Mackay, W. H. Booth, G. E. Sainsbury; auditor, Mr E. Gilbertson ; representative laymen on synod, Messrs White and Hobson. On the motion of Mr C. J. Cooke it was decided that it be a recommenpation to the Diocesan Synod that the right of voting at parish meetings be extended to women. '■ Votes of thanks were passed to Revs. H. P. Cox, E. Robertshaw.e, D. O. Hampton, O’Dean, aud Mr J. Thornton for assistance during the vicar’s absence, to the lay readers, Sunday school teachers, choir, choir master and organist, to the ladies of the congregation for assistance in organising recent socials, the auditor and the Press. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to Miss Foot and the congregation at Ashley Clinton for the generous assistance to the vicar and the church. A vestry meeting was held afterwards. Messrs Potts, White and Hobson were appointed the parish nominators. Mr G. H. Graham was elected secretary of the vestry.
