A Shocking Tragedy.
A terrible tragedy is reported from South Australia. On Monday a horse in a bloodstained | buggy was found wandering in North Adelaide in the vicinity of Torrens Lake. While the police were making inquiries, an Afghan, Natella Habibulla, arrived at the watchhouse and reported that his horse had bolted. He was arrested on suspicion. Natella’s house disclosed evidence of a shocking tragedy. There were blood-stains all over the building and yard, but no signs of a body. The police proceeded to Torrens Lake, and by dragging it secured a sack containing the remains of a woman, mutilated in a horrible manner. It is believed that Natella murdered his wife during the night, cut her body up, and was disposing of the remains when his horse bolted. The murdered woman was a European, Nellie Manson by name, and married Natella a few months’ since. Though the scene of the crime is a thickly populated neighbourhood, no quarrelling or other sound was heard. Natella was apparently on good with his wife.
