Personal Items.
Messrs Whittington, T. Tanner, and W. O. Maddison have been elected members of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board for the middle ward. The examining inspector is expected in Waipukurau next week for the annual examinations. Mr L. C. Jones has been transferred from the Napier Post office to Wellington. Mr,Cooper, of the 20th Century Gas Co., was in Waipukurau on Wednesday last. Mr W. A. Chambers proceeded to Wellington to-day to inspect some of the lighting installed by the 20th Century Gas Co., at the invitation of the company. Mr G. A. Ellison, secretary of the Waipuhurau Football Club, left last evening for Aramoho, where he is to be married. Previous to his departure, the local footballers, of whom Mr G. Lomas was the spokesman, assembled and presented him with a travelling bag. Mr Blake, inspector of factories for the Hawke’s Bay district, was in Waipukurau yesterday, and examined the local records. This is the last occasion this gentleman will visit this district, having been appointed to Wellington. Mr J. Culver will have this locality under his jurisdiction io future.
