The Westland Seat.

[By Telegraph.] Hokitika, July 17. The final figures for the Westland election are:—Seddon 2403, v Michel 1683; number on roll 4484 ; majority for Seddon 720. A meeting of the supporters of Mr H Michel was held in the Town Hall last evening, when the hall was crowded. The meeting was for the purpose of organising a testimonial to the defeated candidate, and subscription lists were opened for the purpose of providing a fund. The meeting was characterised by immense enthusiasm, and in a short time a sum of £125 was subscribed in the room.
