THE WAIPUKURAU PRESS.
— We have to announce that the Waipukurau Press newspaper and printing business has been sold to Mr G. W. Venables, an experienced journalist and printer, late of the Auckland province. In order to keep pace with the development and progress of this splendid district, it is the intention of the new proprietor to bring into operation more extensive plant and machinery, also, very shortly, to considerably increase the size of the paper. The originator of the Press desires to take tbis opportunity to heartily thank the public for the liberal and cordial supportextended to him since starting, and to express the belief that his successor will be found fully alive to the public’s requirements and interests. We have ample proot that the Press has been appreciated, and believe the time is not far distant when it will rank as one of the best country journals in the colony—provided, of course, it continues to receive the loyal support of the inhabitants; but that may be regarded as a certainty. Mr Venables will take possession next week.
