—0 NOTES. The Auckland City Club’s team played its third match in Sydney on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Glebe Club by 11 points to 8. About thirty-five thousand persons witnessed the match. Just before the close of the game., a nasty accident occurred. Biddell was kicking the ball when Little went to stop it. Both swung at the same instant, and each had his left leg broken. Writing to a friend in Wellington a Sydney enthusiast says that before many more years Austra ia will be in a position to send a superb Rugby combination to Great Britain- The nice little harvest oi dollars gathered by the N.Z.R.U. over the tour of its representatives last season has inspired the State Rugby oflicialswith hopes that they will be in the same fortunate position if a visit from their men eventuates. An Australian writer draws attention to the several interpretations placed upon certain points of of the Rugby law by the referees of Queensland, New South Wales, and New Zealand, and suggests that an Australasian committee be appointed to J discuss the several points and bring about one uniform reading of them. At a meeting of the Waipawa Sub-Union, a committee was appointed to meet the East Coast teamat Waipukurau this afternoon It is probable Mr Gooseman will act as referee in the match to-mor-row. It was resolved, That the H.B. Rugby Union be informed that in the opinion of this meeting Wilder is a resident of the Waipawa district. It was decided, That all competition matches now be closed for the season. - The following players have been selected to represent the Waipawa sub-union team in the match against the East Coast Union to-morrow : —-Full-back, Hopkins; three-quar-ters, Collett, Ferguson, Ryan ; eights, Glasgow, Sharpin ; half, B.
