—*— The Waipukurau School Committee met last evening. Present— Messrs Gow [chairman], P. Barrie, Annand, and F. Bailey. sympathy. The chairman moved, “That this meeting of the commituse of the Waipukurau school district records its appreciation of Mr Seddou s services to New Zealand, and expresses its sincere sympathy with Mrs beddon and the members of the family in their sad bereavement.” Mr Bailey seconded, and the motion was carried, the members standing. report. The headmaster’s report was read. The roll number is 165, and the highest number present on any one day was 155. Three new chairs had been purchased. Tne report complained of the frequent absence from school of the relieving mistress.—Before fowarding report to Board to deal with, the committee resolved to ask the teacher for an explanation.

Waipukurau is in the middle ward; Hatuma in the south. . The Board elections will take place shortly. Mr Whittington the only candidate for the middle ward, asked for the committees vote; agreed to. A number of small accounts totalling £8 16s 6d, were passed for payment. ________
