Shooting Season.
The shooting season opened this morning. Plenty of banging at the lake. Some fair bags are reported. {Stock sale postponed until tomorrow on account of opening of season. The Duck’s Soliloquy. “ On Ist May, they’ll blaze away Ail day, So I’ll hie me away. From Waipuk lake a flight I’ll take To regions remote. I vote You’ll no find me, d’ye see. I'll not come back, To be shot for the pot. Adieu.” Quack! And away he flew.
