The Napier Cup, the principal event on the first, day, was wun by Whakawehi, the dividend being £4 ss. In the Trial Hack Stakes, Merriwing rewarded barkers with £8 3s. Yesterday Douche pulled off the Bennett Stakes, the Cup winner being second. In the Maiden Hack Scurry Linkless paid the substantial dividend of £2L 6s, and McLean £ll 7s. Polyanthus won the St. Patrick’s Handicap. During the two days £13,115 passed through the totalisatov. Gleam and Immolation ran a dead heat for the Stratford County Handicap. ©rieket Napier v. Sub-Union. -Napier won by 85 runs, making inniogH and 103 for nine wickets in second innings. The sub-association team’scored 19 and 39, Monro and Bromley being very destructive with the ball. Tor the country players Crespin was tne only batsman to reach doable figures —.18- Absolum bowleu foui for 14, Chambers one for 6. The day was fine, and a good Bumoes of spectators assembled.
