Mr C. Hall is to be banqueted at Dannevirke by his supporters at an early date ; the Premier is expected to be present. Captain Edwin telegraphed yesterday as follows : —‘ ' Heavy gale from between north and east and south-east after 16 hours from now; glass fall ; rain probably heavy and rivers flooded. Reporting on the work in Waipukurau riding, the county engineer says : —O’Grady will complete his metalling contract on Hatuma main road to-day, and I have arranged with him to do the authorised patching on the portion he has been carting over. The county teams have been engaged delivering the river shingle from Hatuma railway station to where it was required, and they will complete that work in a few days. Have not had time during the month to deal with the authorised repairs to Brooklin bridge, butwill put the work in hand at once.
