DOG TAX.

[To the Editor. Sir, —Allow me to congratulate the Waipukurau Town Board on the adoption of a fair and reasonable dog tax. Some boards impose on poodles and fancy dogs a heavy tax of 10s with a tight collar given in. There are hundreds of wellhaved pet dogs—real nice pets who never fight nor chase fast-reced-ing vehicles —and I’m sure the owners won’t object to pay a modest five bob each to allow them to remain in the model village a solace and a comfort to the inhabitants. — Yours truly, Owner of 3.
