The " Duchess." — A highly magnifying, achromatic, binocular opera glass, is the lightest made j it is very flat, and will not tire or strain the eye ; unites great definary and magnifying power with clearness and effect, and is first-class for theatre, sea or field. This is the best and cheapest glass ever offered to fche public. In spring leather case complete, price 12s 6d. A very superior glass, with ivory body and gilfc mounts, complete, 21s. For particulars of about forty other varieties of opera, field, and marine glasses, .see catalogue, sent post freo. RICHARDSON'S OPTICAL APPARATUS.— TELESCOPE AND MICROSCOPE COMBINED. The above consists of an achromatic telescope, suitable for the country or seaside j ifc is also of sufficient power to show the larger mountains and craters in the moon. By unscrewing the eyehead and replacing it by that containing the dark colored glass, the solar eclipses and the spots on the sun'B disc may be well observed. The eye tube may be used as a microscope by unscrewing it at the first joint, and screwing it in the stand which contains fche concave mirror. There are six objects sent with this instrument, also a circular well glass, for insects in water. The brass tube, with glass bottom, is for holding aquatic subjects, or living insects may be placed on it and secured for examination by covering it with large glass plate. The magnifying power is 1,414 times superficial diameters, bufc by removing fcho bottom tube of the eye piece and screwing the bronzed cone in ifcs place, a power of 22,500 may be obtained j this will show the structure of hairs, blood globules, the starches of wheat, peas, potatoes, &c. A great variety of animalculre may also be obtained by making infusions of hay, pepper, and other vegetable matters.
