Medical. Celebrated f ken oh medicines.— \J Prepared by GRTM.U7LT & CO, Chemists to H.1.1T. Prince Napoleon, 45. Rue de Richelieu, Paris. Diseases of the Chest. — Syrup of Hypophosphito of Lime. Grimault & Co, Chemists, Paris. — A syrup compounded with this new salt has been introduced by Dr Churchill, for the treatment of I pulmonary pthisis. Recent trials made at ihe I Bi'ompton Consumption Hospit»l,ofan institution ! especially devoted to the treatment of diseases of the chest, have abundantly demonstrated the absolute necessity for obtaining this new theraI peutic agent in the most perfectly pure and ■ neutral condition. Each table-spoonful of syrup I contains four grains of perfectly pure hypophssphite of lime, and, as compounded by MM. Grimault & Co, of Paris, this syrup is the only preparation which guarantees to the medical profession all the properties required in this valuable medicine. We particularly call the attention of the public to the following important testimonial : — " Lake I Keilambete, Zerongj Victoria, Australia. — Messrs Grimault & Co, Paris. Gentlemen, — I would thank you to forward to my address your price list of medicines, &c, by return of mail. At the same time I compliment you for your syrup of hypophosphite of lime. GRIMAULT & Co's GUARANA.— This ' natural vegetable production, perfectly innocuous, has long been used in Brazil, with the utmost success, as a remedy for Diarrhoea, sick headache, dysentery, and all disorders proceeding from derangement of the stomach and bowels. This powder is indispensable for all families, and far more efficacious than opium and tho subnitrate of bismuth. NO MORE COPAIBA AND CUBEBS.— GRIMAULT'S Capsules and Injection of Matico Vegetalis. Where all other medicines have failed, these preparations will always effect a cure. They insure rapid and extraordinary cure of severe, recent and chronic cases of private disease. They are used in the Hospitals of Paris, by the celebrated Dr Ricord, and are found greatly superior to all hitherto known mineral remedies and copaibsi and cubebs. If they be taken without delay when tingling in the limbs, drowsiness, or giddiness comes on, the effect will be marvellous. Females of all ages and classes. — The fame of the^e Pills is partly based upon the beneficial effects they have upon the constitution of females. From the domestic servant to the peeress, universal favor is accorded to them for their invigorating and purifying properties, which render them so safe and invaluable in all disorders peculiar to their sex. Obstructions of every kind, either in young persons entering into womanhood or approaching the turn of life — the most critical period — may be radically removed by a recourse to these Pills. All disorders affecting the Liver, Stomach and Bowels. — Whenever the stomach, liver, or bowels are disored by high living, climate, over-indul-gence, undue exertion or other causes, these fine regulating Pills wi 1 soon rectify the evil, and speedily bring buck energy, strength, and cheerfulness to the frame, where previously all was lassitude, gloom and dejection. Despondency Low Spirits. — TJie misery occasioned by a disordered digestion is, unfortunately felt by most persons. These famous Pills should be taken in appropriate doses to adjust the disordered functions. They dispel headache, biliousness, nausea, lowness of spirits, and all similar ailments. A course of these invaluable purifying Pills never fails in removing the cause of such morbid affections, without subjecting the sufferer to any inconvenience. Influenza, Diptheria, Bronchitis, Coughs, and Colds. — In our changeable climate few persons escape without colds, sore throats, influenza, diptheria, or bronchitis, for all of which these famous corrective Pills may be taken with the certainty of effecting a cure. While the Pills are expelling all impurities from the body generally, Holloway's Ointment should be well rubbpd upon the chest and throat ; it will penetrate the skin, reduce inflammation and restore lasting soundness. FREEMAN'S CHLORODYNE. mHE ORIGINAL CHLORODYNE, invented 1 by RICHARD FREEMAN, Pharmaceutist, is one of the greatest discoveries of the present age, and is largely used by the most eminent medical men in hospital and private practice in all parts of the globe. It rapidly relieves pain, from whatever cause, allays the irritation of fever, soothes tho system under exhausting diseases, and giveß Bleep without producing the distressing symptons which arise from the use of opiates. Consumption, coughs, colds, influenza, bronchitis, asthma, hooping cough, diarrhoea, dysentry, cholera, spasm?, cramps, rheumatism, gout, &c, &c, immediately relieved, and in most cases cured. Conclusive evidence of tho valuo of it in cholera, diarrhoea, and dysentry is afforded by tho following from the Right Honorable- Earl Russell, who graciously transmitted it to the inventor of Chlorodyno, Mr B Freeman, and to tho Royal College of Physicians of London. Extract of a despatch from Acting-Consul Webb, dated Manilla, Sept., 17, 1864 : — " The remedy most efficacious in its I effects (in epidemic cholera) lias been found to be Chlorodyne, and with a small quantity given to me by Dr Burke I have saved several lives."
