The New Hebrides Question
Opinion of ilia limes
Pross Association.—Copyright. London, Dec. 8
The Times publishes an Australian correspondent's article relating to the New Hebrides, advising the Federal Government to concede preference to Australian nottlers in the Hebrides. The Times expresses the hope that Mr Balfour will receive the suggestions of the Imperial Federal Associations in a sympathetic spirit. At present the colonies hardly realised ilieir origin. The continued existence of tranquility and security was dependent on the British navy, and it was for them to say whether they would continue to accept the advantages of our naval supremacy as a priceless gift, or assume an equitable share of the heavy burden it entails.
