Tub Academy was well filled last overling, whon the above-nnincd cntilata was repeated by the choir of Wesloy Clmrch, assisted by ft number ot friends, under tho leader. ship of Mr Joseph Adams. The various choruses were rendered with n yiru and precision which gavo great pleasure to tho largo audience, which followed tho wholo piece with inarlt 1 attention, The im>sic eonaisliiiß of tho gravo and tho gay, is a ; magnificent si'tlii'g of the thrilling story from tho Hook of Esther, Tho soloists all displayol a thorough mastery of their work, the Invest portions of which tell on Mrs McWilliams (Queen), Mr E. Morgan (King), Mr Humphries (Monlocai), Mrs llclmi's (Zercsh], Mr Chas Rayner (Hainan), Mrs J. Mclmloe (Maid of Honour). A short hut excellent programme had boon i arranged to prccetlo tho cantata, Master Stanley Williams, who always proves a great attraction to Waihi music lovers, gavo, as tho first item, the lovely song " Doreen," This niiulo a flno impression and a most emphatic recall was given, In response to this tho talented youngvooalist rendered, in his best stylo, the song '' The Swollows," MrW. Williams followed with "ThoS'lamanda' in which his finobass voice bciug heard to tho greatest advantage therein. Mr \V. W. Kowo sang "The Toilers" in perfect manner, cxprcasing the spirit of both author and composer with deep feeling. Tho Kov. 0, C. Harrison, who gave tho short connective readings, briefly expressed tho indebtedness of tho Church officials to all who had assisted Montion was made of the aid given by Mr Adams, Miss Morgan, organist, tho mam-
