Mr P. H. Lambert sued the Racing Club for 163 damages, alleged to have been caused by his mars Mokihihi fulling over a chain which was across tho course on which he had obtained permission to gallop. Ho coniondod that the accidont probably prevented his winning several races in which tho maro had afterwards started,
The magislmto cllowod £7 for tlio saddle which was destroyed, but held that tho othor claim was too far fetched,
