GRANTS FOR SCHOOL BUILDINGS Attention was drawn at tho meeting of iho Education Board yeslorday to °tho dihtorinessof tho Government in remitting Auckland's proportion of tho building groins, nmouniiiif! to nbont .£12,000 per ntmuiu. Although ontitled to 13003 (juariorly, only 12000 had been placod to ilio credit ol tho Board for tho first quarter oi the present year, vhile in tho second quarter tho amount hail dwindled down lo £IOOO, tho Board having thus received £3500 only, instoad of £6OOO, This meant that important building work had to be shelved for want of monoy. The Board decided io briug the matter undor t.ie notice of tho Auckland memborsof Parliament with a view to their moving tho Government to give proper attention to the requirements of tho district.
