WAIHI EXTENDED MINE
PROMISING FUTURE Sinck reaching tlio footwall of the roof at n width of It) fcot, work in tlto face of the drive has been continued, but up tho present no appreciable advancement has been made. The footwali of the reef is repor-i ted to contain good sulphide ore, and much interest is beiiif» manifested in tho probable valuo of tin reof at this point. Taking as«cntovion the footwall of tho reefs in the Wiihi mine, and tho appearanco of tho lode in tho Extended mine at this point, a good essay may be rcnsonablj expcolcd. The theory advanced by some of our local mining men is that the reof is an extension of tho big Martlm lode, and not tho reef that is being tra; versed in tho Grand Junction mine, and that tho lattor reef may bo picked up a little distance ahead of thopresent drive in the Extended. This idea is based on tho fact that the courso of tho reef in qnostion in the Junction mine rung at a wider angle. Tho future prospects of tho Extended are yery promising indeed,
