Judgment was given this morning by Judgo Edwards in banco concerning the jurisdiction of the District Court in mining wises, He affirms that tho Court has ex* o'usivo jurisdiction under tho Act of 1898, Tho caso was an application by tho Waihi Company, with tho consont of the Waihi Grand Junotion Company, for a writ of certioari to remove the claim of 120,275 from tho District Court to tho Supremo Court, in coiißequenoe of tho magnitude of the claim, importance of tho Bubjoot, and the possibility of an appeal to the Privy Counoil by either sido, Tho Judge said he regretted being unable to grant tho order, bocauso the faot moant a groat and uttorly useless waste of time and expense, since in tho ultimate Courts of Appeal tho ovidenoo of tho Supremo Court alono would be available,
