'v Telegraph.—Press Association Donedin, this daj. At a meeting of the University Council there was a discussion on giving up tho School of Mines to Auckland, A state' incut was made, that tho majority of the Council would light for the Mining School, only they thought it would imperil tho gram for a Medical School. Evonumlly a resolution was passed that tho Council is strongly of opinion that it would bo infuriotiii the interests ot mining to closo the School of Mints.
