Loubet, President of tho Republic, has signed an order for tho suppression of the Order of Sulpicians at Dijon on tho ground that they wero at the bottom of all the trouble in the diocese. Previously the Sulpioians wero oxompted on the ground that thoy were exclusively dovotod to Iho training of priests. Paris, August 1 Tho Bishop of Dijon's stipend has been suspended on the' ground that he committed a broach oi the Concordat, in-ns-much as ho had gjne to Rome at tho Pope's summons without the permission of the Government. Official correspondonjo shows that the Holy Ollico claimed tho right to summon tho bishop to answer the imputations against his moral character and to send exclusively ecclesiastical instructions.
