DUNEDIN PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY
(Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, November 10. At the Presbyterian Assembly this morning, the Rev. J. H. Mackenzie, of Nelson, was appointed junior clerk of the Assembly in place of the Rev. D. Borric. who resigned last year owing to illhealth. The Foreign Missionary Committee made the following recommendations, which were chrfied unanimously;—(l) Weicome appointment by St. Andrew’s, Dunedin, of Miss Hancock and Miss James to Canton; to build a double manse at Canton at a cost of £800; to devote the bequest of the late Archibald Anderson, of ~000 (reduced by stamp duties to ,£450) towards the erection of the Ambrira Hospital,; to agree to .the proposed increase In salaries of the missionaries in India and China; to appoint the Rev. T. ,E. Riddle (just returned from' Epe, in .the New Hebrides) to India; .and to appoint Peter Milne. 8.A., to the Canton, village mission in China.
