A MYSTERIOUS CASE.
A WOMAN In, MAN’S ATTIRE. Employed at a Bondi Dairy. Was Known as "Jack.” 1 The young woman who was found by Constable Jones oh Tuesday evening, savs the Sydney Daily Telegraph of the sth iusj;., lying on the,grass in Hyde Park, in an unconscious condition, and dressed in male attire, was admitted to Sydney Hospital. At a late nour yesterday morning she regained consciousness, and''when asked, her name, and where - she resided, he replied that she did not know. However, about 8 o'clock last evening Mr McKenzie, son of l the proprietor of the Waverley Dairy, Bondi, identified the woman. It appears that she has been employed at ’the dairy, milking cows, etc . for about 10 days, and was known bv the other employees as "Jack.” What U*r real name is the police are at a loss I o know. Mr McKenzie, when he engaged the v*. man, was under the impression that shs was a -boy of about 16 years of age. She told Mr McKenzie i liat she had just arrived from the Richmond River. The youngs woman left the dairy on Monday without giving any notice to her employer. Senior-consiable Niitley paid a visit to the hospital yesterday, and put a nnmboi of questions to the young woman, but she replied that she did, not know. The woman, who is about 22 years of age, has her hair cut short, and is of dark complexion, and bears a very striding resemblance to a boy.
