A FALL IN PRICE. LEVIN AND CO.’S REPORT. WELLINGTON, November 7 The first sale .of the season was held to-day, InOO.baJes being offered by the Associated Brokers, our offering being 250 bales. The condition of the clips was somewhat similar to" last year,- though; heavier than ordinarily, and the wool; not too .well grown. At the opening' of the 1 sale there was a good' attendance of buyers from all.. parts,! the United Kingdom, Europe, United States and New Zealand being well represented, but oversea buying withdrew, owing to objections raised by them to the enforcement of the terms' “Cash before delivery.” The .sale was supported, however, by local operators . and non-members 'ortho Buyers’ Assoeiation; who operated freely at prices which lyere fully equal to the London oquivaleUt, and the sale did not annear to suffer aiiy lack of competition. As was to bo expected, owing to. the low range .of prices now current in Loudon,' and the uncertain outlook, prices showed a fall of Ifd, to.Jfd, as compared with last November.- The following is The. range of .prices I To-day’s prices—-Memos,, none offering; halfbreds, 9d to 9Jdv superior fine.crossbreds, 7|d .fco 8;jd; medium crossbreds, 7d to-7-Jd; coarse croksbreds, to breds, fid’To' pieces and- bellies, 4d tosd:liicks,:3d.toj3§d.-. - - .HAETTHI STOCK SALE; - / Messrs Freeman' E. Young grown cattle changed hands at ruling rates, grown cattle being less sought after.
