FOUND DROWNED.
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November C. A dead body was found near the King’s Wharf yesterday. It was that of a man oft 7in in height and apparently about 55 years of age. The body was clothed in a grey-striped suit, in the pockets of which were found £1 12s 9d in money, a whisky flask, some totalisator tickets, and two race-hooks of the Wellington Spring Meeting, a return railway ticket to Palmerston North, and a Parliamentary memo, form, addressed “P. Brandon." On this was written "Can I see you?" and was signed “Dunk." The body had apparently been in the water about nine days. The body was taken to the morgue, where an inquest will be held. BODY IDENTIFIED. , WELLINGTON, November 7. The body of the man found in the harbour yesterday has been identified as that of Duncan McColl, formerly assistant librarian in Parliament Buildings. McColl had been working on a farm at .Waitotara, and came here for the races.'He was last seen on the 25th October. The body appeared to have been in the water about nine days. The features are unrecognisable. An inquest is being held to-day.
