A MYSTERIOUS MURDER.
Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright SYDNEY, November 4. There has been a mysterious murder at Glebe. The body of Henry Trevascus, a metallurgist, was found in bis room at a lodging-house. The head was battered with a heavy implement, and the face, head and throat were slashed with a razor. It is believed that ho baa been dead since Tuesday or Wednesday. Nobody entered the room, which was locked, until his daughter called yesternight. The door was forced, and- the body was discovered. Tlie police are without a clue as to the assailant, but it is suspected that robbery was tlie motive. Pinned to Trevascus’ door was a memorandum stating: “Gone to Goulburn. Return Friday.’’ This accounts for the late discovery of the crime. ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS. Received November 6, 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, November 6. It has been ascertained that on Monday Thevascus drew fifty pounds from a bank. Tlie money was not in his room when tho body was fouycl. Tlie writing on the memorandum stating that ho would not return till Friday is not Trevascus’s.
