Supreme Court Mr Justice Edvards sentenced Jesse O’Brien, a youngman, for theft from a dwelling, to a year’s hard labour, and two. years’ reformatory treatment. , Herman. Langsdorf, ior issuing valueless .cheques (he had many . previous convictions in New Zealand and Australia) was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, and five years’ reformatory treatment. C. Ryan, theft from a dwelling (he had also a long list of previous convictions) was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and eight years’ reformative treatment, the Judge describing accused - (a coloured man) as a hopeless case, and a curse to the community.
