A TYPICAL SHOW IN CATTLE. The Egmont A. and P. Show, which takes place next week at Hawhra, is always noted for its magnificent cattle exhibits, and this year’s, fixture will he no exception. With a district so renowned in dairying, it is only natural to expect to see well-bred cattle. Taranaki breeders are daily on the look-out for the very best in dairy stock, and.tremendous prices have been given for pedigree animals. , Though .the Jersey is yet the predominant breed, the Ayrshire and Holstein cattle are getting a strong footing, and tlie show next week, especially .of Jerseys and Ayrshire?, will be an exceptionally fine one. . A solid silver challenge cup, donated by the New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd., is being keenly competed for. ; To the stud breeder there is no finer market than at Hawera, and next week’s fixture will undoubtedly occupy the attention of all wide-awake men.
