The Anglo-German Friendship Society held a meeting at “Mansion House, the Lord Mayor presiding, and passed a resolution in favour of a rapprochement with Germany and the holding of an AngloGerman Exhibition in London in 1913. A special committee to promote the scheme was formed, consisting of Lord Weardale, Sir P. Lascelles, Mr E. I£oell, the Hon. Sydney Buxton, Lord Courtney, and the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament.
