ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING.

There was a capital attendance at the annual meeting of the Wanganui head centre of the Royal Life Saying Society held last evening in the Council Chambers, Mr H .M. Payne "(President) occupying me chair. REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET.— The annual report and balance-sheet, as already published by us, was read and adopted. AFFILIATION.—On. the motion of the chairman, the Wanganui Technical College, Gouvillc School, and Gonvillo Swimming Club were affiliated to the bead centre. Mr F. D. Gaffaney was elected a member of_the Society. RULES.—The new rules, as drafted by. Mr W. Henry, were adopted, with minor alterations'. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.—The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, His Majesty King George V.; vicepatron, Mr C. E. Mackav; president, Mr H. M, Payne; vice-presidents, Messrs D. McFarlane, 11. W. Conpcr, and D. Meldrnm; hon. medical officers, Drs. Wall and Anderson; hon. instructors, Messrs Lints and Plankuch (Now Plymouth); .executive, committee, Messrs .11.'D. Ashcroft, Penhall, Korby, Furrie, -Turner, Tryinond, Jannings, Varney, Bowater, C. Swan, McLean, and Bobbins; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. Robbins; auditors, Messrs Ja go and Balcewcll; trustees, Messrs McFarlane. Coupfer- and Dr. Wall. -THANKS.—Votes of thanks to the retiring officers, the-Borough Council, 'and the chairman, closed the: meeting.
