MAYOR’S STATEMENT CHALLENGED. (Per United ■ Press Association.) WAIHI, November 3. A deputation of business men and others waited .on, the Borough Council in*' " referciiee-to flic- statement made by the' Mayor recently that Waihi had not bonofittod morally or materially undqr No-Liconso. The speakers challenged the Mayor’s statements, and urged the Council to pass a resolution contraverting them. The Mayor held to his declaration. A resolution was passed that the opinion of the Mayor regarding Waihi under Xo-Licenso does not represent the opinion of the Council, and that the Council considers that No-Licqnse, in Waihi has not had an injurious effect financially, morally, or socially on the well-being of tho town-
