ANOTHER MASS MEETING CALLED.

The Wharf Labourers’ Union has called a mass meeting for Saturday to consider*the situation. ■ Wednesday’s meeting carried a resolution suggesting that all workers affected by the strike should join, but it is not considered likely they will do so. They will probably maintain their present attitude. and work so long as they arc not called on to do strikers’ duty. The Labour Council discussed the situation and condemned the strike, and supported Mr McGowen’s action. NO JURISDICTION. MELBOURNE, November 3. In reply to questions, the Hon. W. H. Hughes stated that the President of the Arbitration Court’s opinion was that the Government had no jurisdiction in regard to the strike. TRAMWAYMEN ON STRIKE. FREMANTLE, November 3. The tramway men struck at midnight, owing to the suspension for half a day of six fellow-workers;
