Champ Clark, speaking at Fremont, Nebraska, declared: “Nine-tenths of the United States favour the annexation of Canada. I don’t care who hears'me say it.” Mr Clark challenged President Taft to stand as a Presidential candidate on the sole question of annexation, and said he would iu that case defeat Mr Taft.
