LABOUR PARTY'S TRIUMPH. Free* Association.—Telegraph.-r-Gopyright. PERTH, November 1. Tbe final Assembly election at Eoebnrn resulted in the return of Gardiner (Labour). The new House consists of 34 Labourites and 16 Liberals. LEGISLATION FORESHADOWED. Eeoeived November 2, 10.30 a.m. PEETH, November 2. Parliament lias opened. The Governor’s speech referred to the fact that a Labour Government had been elected after a record poll. Several railways to develop the agricultural resources are under consideration, and special attention is to be given to bona fide land settlement. The Speech also foreshadowed Bills empowering the Government to make advances to people desiring to build homes, to alter the constitution of the Public Service Ap- ■ peal Board, to enable the weekly halfholiday to be determined by the electors, to reduce Ministerial : and certain Parliammifary officials’ salaries, and to establish a Court of Criminal Appeal.
