ASSISTED IMMIGRANTS.
LARGE NUMBER OF ARRIVALS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November ,1. 'With, the arrival of two Home liners, the Atlietaic and Turakina, and the Sydney, I steamer Moeraki, the population w the dominion was considerably added to,today. The Athenic brought 620 passeirg.Ts and 34 in the salOon. There .were- 174 : assisted immigrants, 123 adults, and 51 children. The list included 30 farm labourers, 10 farmers, and 40 domestic servants. The latter came out in charge of Miss Hcllicr, and are booked to varous parts of the Dominion. Sixteen wives are ' rejoining their husbands. The Athenic landed 117 passengers at Hobart for Aiis- ■ tralian ports. The Turakina’s passengers I numbered 359, of whom 294 were in the , third class. The assisted immigrants by 1 her totalled 28 adults and 3 children, inj eluding 14 domestics. The Tongariro, duo ■ on December 7th, has about 450 assisted I immigrants on hoard. One hundred do- | mestics arc coming by this steamer.
