COMPENSATION CLAIM.
(Per United Press Association.) ’ ’ ■ WELLINGTON. October 31. In a claim for compensation brought by T. Conerdale against the City Council for £2520.0n account of the compulsory acquisition of a piece of land for widening purposes, the Chief Justice pointed out that the value placed on the. land by the claimant worked out at the rate of £196,000 per acre, tn his opinion the people whoso property was increased in value by,street widening should bear a portion of the costs. Tha case is proceeding.
