Baillieu, Victorian Minister of Public Works, in a letter to the Times, says it is significant that the Federal Labour Government has spent more than any previous Government in advertising the Commonwealth for British emigrants. The Trades Unions seemed to recognise that they were no longer justified in opposition to a vigorous emigration policy. If Australia made assisted emigration general it would soon equal Canada.
