(Per United Press Association.)AUCKLAND, October 31. i T*r hours*, conference between tho ;Drainage Board, Unionists, and tho contractors, a basis of agreement was reached under which the existing contractors reserve their right to sub-lot, but promise not to force any workman to accept a sub-contract. They also promise that, there shall be.reinforcement and nothing in. the nature of victimisation. Tho Drainage Board promises that in no now contract shall there be a sub-contracting clause. The Union meets at 3 p.m;. to consider the basis of tlie agreement.
